2024 Annual Leaders Forum Recap: Connecting and Inspiring Leadership

From October 21 to 24, Park Place Seniors Living held its Annual Leaders Forum at the Vancouver Airport Marriott Hotel, gathering leaders from all 40 Park Place communities. This annual event is a cornerstone of our organization, providing a dynamic space for education, leadership development, and community-building, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in senior care.

A Gathering of Vision, Innovation, and Growth

The forum theme, “Connection Inspires Direction,” guided the event’s sessions, which were carefully crafted to support leaders in navigating the evolving landscape of senior care. A keynote address by Terry Lake of the BC Care Providers Association provided a strategic environmental scan, setting the stage for discussions on the future of senior living and the challenges ahead. Additionally, marketing insights from Lina Saba highlighted the importance of brand trust in today’s care industry, underscoring our focus on enhancing Park Place’s reputation as a trusted leader in quality senior care.

Highlights in Leadership and Innovative Practices

The event covered essential topics that advance our mission, including sustainability, individualized dining experiences, and innovative approaches to resident well-being. A memorable session by Tracy Pepe on the impact of scent in living environments offered valuable insights into creating calming, sensory-friendly spaces for seniors. For our leaders, the two-part Clifton Strengths workshop, led by Sharon Cook and Leslie Belin, offered strategies for identifying and maximizing individual strengths, supporting Park Place’s goals of fostering resilient, high-performing teams.

Long Service Recognition Gala: Celebrating Dedication

A highlight of the forum was the Long Service Recognition Gala on October 23, where we celebrated staff who have served Park Place for five, ten, fifteen, and twenty years. The awards recognized the dedication and compassion of those who embody Park Place’s values daily. This evening of appreciation reflected our organization’s culture of respect, honouring those who contribute tirelessly to our residents’ well-being and our community’s growth.

Looking Toward the Future of Senior Care

The 2024 Leaders Forum concluded with a renewed focus on shaping the future of senior care through strong leadership, empathy, and innovation. Participants left inspired, equipped with fresh perspectives, and ready to implement new practices across our communities. Thank you to everyone who made this year’s forum a success and to all our long-service award recipients whose unwavering dedication drives our vision forward.
