Chippawa Creek Team Shines at Alzheimer’s Walk, Raising Funds and Awareness
The Alzheimer’s Walk held in May for the Niagara Falls region was a resounding success, bringing together individuals, families, and organizations with a common goal: to support the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Among the participants, the Chippawa Creek team demonstrated their dedication to making a difference in the lives of those affected by this devastating illness. With their enthusiastic spirit and unwavering commitment, they not only raised an impressive amount of funds but also fostered a sense of community and hope.
The Chippawa Creek team, comprising 14 passionate individuals, came together for the Alzheimer’s Walk, representing their organization and their shared mission. The team members, including staff, and a couple family members, showed their solidarity and determination to support the cause. Their diverse backgrounds and personal connections to Alzheimer’s disease made their presence all the more meaningful, as they understood firsthand the challenges faced by those affected.
Raising Funds for a Worthy Cause: One of the primary objectives of the Alzheimer’s Walk was to raise funds for the Niagara region Alzheimer’s Society. The Chippawa Creek team went above and beyond, collectively raising an impressive total of $1193. These funds will contribute to vital research, support programs, and services aimed at improving the lives of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and their families.
Expanding Opportunities: The Chippawa Creek team’s success has fueled their desire to do even more in the future. Looking ahead, they plan to expand the participation in the Alzheimer’s Walk, aiming to organize a mini walk on-site for residents to be able to participate next year. This new initiative will enable residents, staff members, and families to come together and participate in the event without leaving the comfort of their own community. By providing this opportunity, the team hopes to engage a wider audience, raise further awareness, and generate increased support for Alzheimer’s research and care.
Spreading Gratitude and Awareness: To express their appreciation to everyone who contributed to their fundraising efforts, the Chippawa Creek team has taken steps to thank donors. They included a blurb in their monthly newsletter, ensuring that the wider community is aware of the team’s achievements and the vital work being done by the Alzheimer’s Society. Additionally, they posted signs acknowledging and recognizing the generosity of those who made donations. By actively promoting awareness and gratitude, the team continues to inspire others to get involved and support this important cause.
