Cultivating Community Connections: a Recap of Wellington’s May Open-House Event

With the rising temperatures, vibrant flowers in bloom, and a lively energy that fills the air, spring is a time of renewal, transformation, and new beginnings. At The Wellington Retirement Residence, we embraced the spirit of the season by inviting the community for a day of fun during an open house. For those who missed the day of festivities at this Medicine Hat retirement community, here’s a quick recap of how our day went.

Welcoming New Faces

We love to engage with our community whenever possible, and this spring open house event gave us the opportunity to do just that! We welcomed over 200 guests to explore what life is like at The Wellington Retirement Residence, connecting them with a number of trusted local vendors, which included:

Veiner Centre: Offering seniors a number of programs and services to empower them to live healthier lives through nutritious food choices, physical activities, courses, and access to valuable resources and information.

SMYLES: Offering the community the convenience of professional mobile dental hygiene services.

Sweet Feet: Experts in advanced foot care, offering seniors and other community members a suite of services that can support: diabetics, cancer patients, those with arthritis, those with mobility issues, and more.

A2Z Homecare and Companionship: A service that offers seniors assistance and transportation to medical appointments, shopping, and more.

Christine Weibe: Offering seniors mobile hair services, home services, and support as a driving companion

Flos Baking: Serving up delicious baked goods for the community to savour.

Enjoying An Upbeat Atmosphere

Bringing our community event to life with the toe-tapping rhythms of rock and blues was the  Rusty Nails Band. We loved hearing familiar tunes performed by this talented group of musicians while enjoying light refreshments and snacks.
