August 16, 2022 | By Park Place Seniors Living |
Park Place Seniors Living welcomes its newest home, Maeford Place, acquired in August of 2022.
Located in the B.C. Interior, or near Downtown Quesnel, Maeford Place is a charming and welcoming assisted living community that features 36 one bedroom seniors living suites, 35 of which are publicly funded by Northern Health and one that is private pay. The site leader, Melissa Appenrodt has been the site leader at the community for 4.5 years and has always seen a full waitlist for Maeford Place.
Maeford Place Seniors Community also offers subsidized assisted living options. All 36 suites are fully self-contained, home-like assisted living units with a fridge and stove top, weekly housekeeping and laundry, and a dedicated scooter storage.
On-site amenities include a relaxing spa tub, spacious BBQ patio, walking paths, scooter paths, comfortable lounge areas, and lots of parking. Other on-site amenities include a wellness center, activities room, an interactive gaming system (Wii), and guest meals at a cost.
This Quesnel seniors community also offers a wide range of services from 24 hour staffing, top of the line safety features such as heated sidewalks for added safety during the winter months, and a recreational calendar that provides lots of opportunities for you to build a social connection with other residents on-site. Residents also receive an emergency pendant and watch to be worn for their safety.
Besides Lunch and Dinner included in your monthly fee, there is a monthly “Chef’s Club” that hosts monthly meetings open to all residents so they can discuss future meal offerings and preferences.
Maeford Place also runs a meals on wheels program that serves around 36 community members in the wider community. We charge $8.00 per meal which is delivered 3 times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Currently there are 3 routes which are the Downtown core, the Westside, and South, but we do have limitations on how far meals can be delivered due to the discretion of the program volunteers.
